High school teachers and counselors don’t always talk about trade school programs as a next step, but they should. Our students find many good reasons for attending vocational school programs. When considering trade schools vs. traditional colleges, high school students and working adults may not be aware of some important information.

Pennco Tech offers trade school programs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Our students learn to work as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) technicians and medical assistants. They develop knowledge and skills in welding, plumbing, automotive technology, and diesel technology. Our programs are focused, practical, and designed to get you into the workforce quickly. Here, we discuss three reasons you should choose a trade.

Find a Lifelong Career

The skills you learn in trade school programs are reliable and long-lasting. When you choose to enroll in a Pennco Tech program, you will learn systems and develop skills you can use throughout the U.S. Graduation from our certification and degree programs assures employers that you are a qualified candidate with hands-on experience. With job experience and guidance, our former students can advance from initial entry-level positions to full-fledged trade career roles.

Our campuses in Bristol, Pennsylvania, and Blackwood, New Jersey, allow students to choose where to enroll in our trade school program offerings. Our programs include:

Take Advantage of the Market

You may remember wishing you could have taken a shop class in high school, such as woodworking or auto body. Sadly, many schools today have cut these programs from their budgets. However, demand for these skills continues. As baby boomers retire and leave these jobs, many economic sectors, such as transportation, industry, healthcare, and construction, need qualified workers. Developing skills in these occupations can fill existing and growing needs in the marketplace.

Trade school programs are available at less cost in money and time than four-year degrees. In addition, 80% of the students at Pennco Tech qualify for financial aid. You may be able to leverage student loans and a relatively short-term trade school program into a lifelong career that is both satisfying and profitable.

*Financial Aid available only to those who qualify.

Get Certified – Fast

The time investment in Pennco Tech trade school programs is worth considering. Our Automotive Technology program lasts around 39 weeks, while our Plumbing and Heating Technology program takes 26 weeks. Students can complete our Medical Assistant program in about 18 weeks. If you take out student loans for vocational school, these are usually much smaller than what is required to attend a four-year college. And best of all, when attending full time, day classes, you can complete these programs in less than a year. Get certified fast and start building your career with Pennco Tech.

In addition, our career services staff can assist students with resumes, interview skills, and networking strategies. We host job fairs and host potential employers on campus. With over 50 years of trade school program training, Pennco Tech has developed a reputation for quality with employers. We offer our career services to students, graduates, and alumni.
