As career-related gender norms continue to break down, more and more women are entering fields that have been traditionally dominated by men. This long-awaited change has affected a wide range of industries, from automotive to healthcare and many more besides. Here at Pennco Tech, we continue to push the boundaries of skilled excellence by encouraging more women of all ages to help even out the field by enrolling in one of our programs and entering the trade of their choice.
At Pennco Tech, women are welcomed with an empowering atmosphere enabling them to excel at any of our technical education programs, including:
Through hands-on training, classroom learning, and laboratory time, our highly qualified and experienced instructors help students master in-demand industry tools and skills, allowing them to thrive in their field after graduation – regardless of their gender. We boast high job placement rates, as well as financial aid for those who qualify, and lifetime career services and assistance.
No matter where their vocational interest lies, Pennco Tech is always encouraging women to follow their passions and prevent gender norms from limiting their career pursuits. Whether you’re a go-getter, love to work with your hands, have mechanical interests, or simply can’t picture yourself in a 9-to-5 office setting, Pennco Tech believes that there is a place for all women in the trades.
With this guiding belief, Pennco Tech formed Girl Power, a campaign that cultivates female interest in trade careers and supports women in getting started with technical education. The initiative was introduced at the Philadelphia Auto Show in February 2020 and has since raised awareness about the abundance of opportunities available in the trades taught by Pennco Tech.
Our Girl Power campaign also serves as a reminder that launching a successful trade career requires courage, dedication, perseverance, and hard work. Someone who can attest to this fully is Larry McReynolds, Pennco Tech spokesperson and Career Crew Chief. McReynolds brings a legendary resume to Pennco Tech as a former NASCAR crew chief, Foxsports.com columnist, and racing analyst for Fox Sports.
“We encourage women to join our Pennco Tech pit crew,” he says, “and are dedicated to providing them with educational opportunities and hands-on training within the trade of their choice, and putting them behind the wheel of a successful and long-lasting career.”
At Pennco Tech, we’re here to provide women and girls with the information they need about our trade school programs and the opportunities open to them in traditionally male-dominated fields. To learn more about women in the trades or enrolling at our campuses in Bristol, Pennsylvania or Blackwood, New Jersey, contact Pennco Tech today.
