Pennco Tech is proud to announce it is now offering National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA) PersonAbility™ program, an interactive tool designed to build essential soft skills for a better future in healthcare at its Bristol campus. This resource will be provided to students in their Medical Assistant training programs. It will provide dynamic and engaging content and activities that blend educational and real-world scenarios.
In a recent 2017 Access™ job readiness research report, it was noted that more than 93% of employers feel health professionals do not have adequate training on soft skills. PersonAbility™ helps educators effectively build-essential softs skills and drive behavior change through a unique online learning resource that utilizes practice and assessment through virtual simulation.
“Here at the Pennco Tech, we want to ensure our students not only succeed but most importantly, our students are studying the most relevant knowledge for their exam and career,” said Hakiem Coles, Director of Education at the Bristol, PA, campus. “This convenient, online access to a robust resource library of activities and interactive learning features will reinforce content taught in our classrooms. Students will be able to utilize virtual human simulation that allows users to go at their own pace in a safe, controlled environment,” adds Coles.
Hakiem Coles, Director of Education, presents the value of the new PersonAbility™ interactive program to students in the Medical Assistant program.
PersonAbility™ interactive program includes topics like:
• Communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, and written)
• Teamwork
• Active listening
• Emotional intelligence
• Professionalism and personal brand
• Empathy and compassion
• Taking initiative
• Adaptability/flexibility
NHA’s online certification preparation materials, which include practice tests, will dramatically impact the quality of learning for students. These interactive tools provide additional comprehensive learning and assessment of essential skill sets needed for a career in the medical field today.
