Pennco Tech Announces New Welding Program at its Bristol Campus

April 1st, 2022

There has never been a better time to become a welder and enter this high-demand, well-paying career than right now. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are over 418,200 welding jobs openings in the United States, and this number is projected to rise by 8% from 2020 to 2030.

Welders are in high-demand industries like transportation, energy, shipyards, construction, and transportation. As more Americans turn to trade careers, Pennco Tech, a top trade school in the region, stands ready to meet this urgent need for welders and announces its new Welding Program located at its Bristol, Pennsylvania campus.

“There has been tremendous interest from students and employers to add welding to our curriculum. It’s also a perfect fit with our other core technical skill courses,” said Alfred Parcells, School Director, Pennco Tech Bristol campus. “Our Welding program will provide ongoing opportunities and endless learning possibilities for men and women. In fact, in as few as 26 weeks, students can get the hands-on training and education needed to start a new career as a welder. The program includes a mix of practical, hands-on skills and classroom instruction, and includes everything from welding techniques, fabrication, to blueprint reading,” Parcells states.

“Over the years, Pennco Tech has experienced substantial growth, and this is a testament to the passion we have to continuously invest in the expansion of our services and develop innovative program offerings for our students,” says Jason Hobyak, VP of Pennco Tech. “Innovation is integral at all levels of our organization and contributes significantly to our success. We are continually evaluating our programs and curriculum to meet the changing needs of our students and their future employers. This program was designed to provide students with the technical skills training they need to become a welder, and position them to meet the growing needs of our network of employers who hire our graduates,” added Hobyak.

Pennco Tech has provided career-minded vocational training programs featuring hands-on learning in real-world applications, equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in some of today’s most in-demand fields. Graduating students can take advantage of a dedicated Career Services department that helps students network with local and national employers who look to hire Pennco Tech graduates.
