Founded in 1920, Mazda has been manufacturing, shipping, and selling cars for a little over 100 years. With their extensive knowledge and generations of experience, Mazda is a leading name in car manufacturing worldwide. For this reason, the team at Pennco Tech is proud to offer a joint effort between our Bristol, Pennsylvania location and Mazda North America Operations (MNAO). As one of the only a few select trade schools with this kind of training in the country, our Mazda Automotive Program is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Here’s what you should know.
There are certain requirements current Pennco Tech students need to meet before looking to apply to the joint program with Mazda. After the student’s first block of our Automotive Technology program, which takes roughly 10 weeks, they can apply for Mazda Automotive Program. On top of their regularly scheduled coursework, “participants in the Mazda Automotive Program will undergo extensive training in all aspects of Mazda technology as part of their curriculum,” according to Pennco Tech school director Fred Parcells.
In addition to the content shared in Pennco Tech’s general automotive curriculum, students also have access to a wide variety of material geared specifically towards Mazda vehicles, such as:
Alongside this vast pool of industry-specific knowledge, “students will have complete access to three current-year Mazda vehicles (a sedan, an SUV and a diesel SUV), as well as specialized tooling and equipment and advanced manufacturer-specific training to enable them to begin a new career as a Mazda Automotive Technician,” adds Parcells. Additional program benefits include:
There are plenty of other options in the area, but Parcells says it best: “We think that our strong and unique relationship with Mazda will attract area students to the program and keep them very engaged and focused on succeeding and obtaining employment alongside their fellow classmates.”
Pennco Tech awards successful students with an associate degree in Automotive Technology and a certification as a Mazda technician. Partnering with Mazda guarantees a world-renowned education for our students, but it also allows us to set a precedent for the community. “We’re so proud to be able to offer students access to our new Mazda Automotive Program and help position them to begin a successful and fulfilling career,” says Parcells. This partnership has and always will be for the benefit of our students.
Whether you’re leaving high school or looking for a career change, the automotive industry welcomes everyone. The Mazda Automotive Program available at Pennco Tech offers internationally renowned experience and certification and is open to any of our students.
