  • Gaining work experience: Before you take the ASE exam, you generally need to earn two years of related work experience at a mechanic shop or dealership. Graduates of our accredited program may be able to reduce this requirement.
  • Taking the exam: After you complete the previous steps, you can take the exam, which you must pass to become a certified diesel mechanic.
